But my internal experience was that the platform was very static and staid.

In my current work at Astutix Learning, we are pioneering a new approach we call the DCEP which is a dynamic platform where knowledge is created, shared and utilized rather than stored for further use. The concept is more like technologies made convenient for people to use them and keep sharing their knowledge more effectively and dynamically. This way an organization creates a very dynamic platform where in such knowledge/expertise transfer happens effectively. All of this is ofcourse based on the convergence between the knowledge management and e-learning spaces.

Most of KM systems are based on the formula of the implicit knowledge being converted into explicit in standard, codified mechanisms before being transferred to the seeker to be converted into implicit knowledge at his/her level. Rather than this convoluted mechanism, we are questioning the fundamental paradigm of storing knowledge. In many ways, we are trying to enable a direct transfer of implicit-to-implicit knowledge thereby greatly enhancing the effectiveness although reducing its efficiency when compared with traditional KM systems.

It is certainly a fascinating aspect this - the convergence when you look at it from the solutions angle.

Sukumar S.
