- Prof. Dr. Mohamed Amine Chatti is professor of computer science and head of the Social Computing Group in the Department of Computer Science and Applied Cognitive Science at the University of Duisburg-Essen. He has a diploma degree in computer science from the Technical University of Kaiserslautern in 2004 and a PhD in computer science from RWTH Aachen University in 2010. His research focuses on Social Computing, Web Information Systems, Data Science, Visual Analytics, Learning Technologies, Learning Analytics, and Knowledge Management.

It's alarming the amount of teachers that don't use, are unaware or uninterested or frightened to learn about these new technologies and how they can help them enhance instruction in their classroom. The students are asking for instruction that is engaging, for using technology that can empower their knowledge. Many times, teachers and administrators lack the training and knowledge of these new web 2.0 technologies and I feel this is when Educational Technology Specialist should step up to the plate and provide the training necessary for teachers to master these tools. My goal is to become that school specialist and therefore i am learning as much as can about them. Thanks for this great video.
